Niniola gets props for the Afro-House movement on BBC Radio 1Xtra

“Respect Niniola because when you start to chart in South Africa with House, you know it’s a problem!” DJ Edu said on BBC Radio 1Xtra with Falz and Shopsydoo.

In a recent joint interview (see video below) with DJ Edu on BBC Radio 1Xtra, Nigerian rapper Falz alongside entertainment broadcaster Adesope Olajide aka Shopsydoo, talk about current trends in the Afrobeat music scene.

With her major chart-topping singles, “Maradona” and “Sicker”, Niniola gets props for leading the new sound and creating the pathway for other artists in the Afro-House genre, which she coined.

Falz also speaks on his admiration for Niniola and a possible collaboration.

Maradona by Niniola is currently topping major charts in South Africa, reaching the number one spot on both YFM 99.2 YonaKeYona’s YUrban Top 40 chart and Metro FM SABC.
